Pride Men Fall To Falcons

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's basketball team fell to the Falcons of Pfeiffer University Wednesday, 113-85.

Pfeiffer opened up the game on an 11-5 run before the Pride used an 8-2 spurt to pull even at 13 with 11:43 remaining in the first half. Darus Maddox started the run with a pair of free throws before connecting from long range, while Kyle Riddley also hit from three-point land.

Following the Greensboro run, the Falcons were able to pull away from the Pride once again but Greensboro stayed close before going into the half trailing 53-37.

In the second half, the Pride was not able to overcome their first half deficit and suffered their fourth loss of the season.

"Credit to Pfeiffer tonight as they did a good job executing their game plan," Head Coach Bryan Galuski said. "I do not think our kids caved in and they wore their jersey proudly.

"Today's game is about growth and there were several players that took a step forward. As a team, we are still trying to find our identity."

Riddley finished with a team-high 24 points, while Maddox chipped in 21 points. Joseph Gatling also finished in double digits scoring with 10. Demetrius led the way for Greensboro in the rebounding category with 13.

The Pride men will return to action at 3 p.m. Saturday when they travel to N.C. Wesleyan College. For more information on Greensboro College men's basketball, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
