DANVILLE, Va. – The Greensboro College volleyball team fell to the Cougars of Averett University Wednesday, 3-0.
The Cougars won by scores of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-14.
"Tonight was not a very good effort by our team," Head Coach
Kathy Bullock said. "I am disappointed in the team's effort in tonight's match after the weekend we just had."
Emily Horn had a team-high eight kills, while
Danyale Berry contributed seven kills.
Evan Sherer and
Alycia Artis combined for six kills, while
Briley Hale-Jarrell finished with a team-high 11 assists.
Shayla Moss,
Jordan Ware, Berry and Sherer paced the Greensboro defense with two blocks apiece, while
Tori Belcher and
Katie Clark both had a team-leading six digs.
The Pride will return to action Saturday when they close out their regular season with two matches at William Peace University. Greensboro will take on the Spirits of Salem College at 12 p.m. before squaring off with the Squirrels of Mary Baldwin University at 2 p.m.
