Volleyball Picks Up Road Victory Against Ferrum

FERRUM, Va. – The Greensboro College volleyball team topped the Panthers of Ferrum College Tuesday in USA South Athletic Conference play, 3-1.
 
The Pride raced out to an 8-3 lead in Set 1 and did not look back. Evan Sherer opened the match with her first kill of the afternoon before the Panthers committed five errors and Shayla Moss added two kills.
 
Greensboro then took their largest lead of the set at 15-7, following another Moss kills, before closing out the set with a 25-18 win to take a 1-0 lead.
 
However, Ferrum rallied back to even the match at one set each with a 25-19 Set 2 win.
 
After dropping the second set, Greensboro responded back in Set 3.
 
With the score tied at 12 midway through the set, the Pride went on a 13-3 run to regain their one-set advantage with a 25-15 win. Katie Clark, Danyale Berry and Emily Horn each recorded a kill during the closing run, while Briley Hale-Jarrell had two service aces.
 
Following the Set 3 victory, Greensboro was able to close out the match with a 25-17 win in Set 4.
 
"Today was a great win for our girls," Head Coach Kathy Bullock said. "I was extremely proud of my team for going on the road with a new rotation and finding a way to win.
 
"They continue to find ways to overcome obstacles and be successful."
 
Moss and Berry each had a match-high 13 kills, while Horn added 11 kills. Katie Clark dished out 46 assists and Tori Belcher had 16 digs.
