GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College volleyball team fell to crosstown rival Guilford College Thursday, 3-1.
Guilford took the opening set 25-16 before Greensboro responded back to win an extended Set 2, 29-27.
After the Pride was able to even the match a one set each, Guilford was then able to win the next two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-19.
"I knew it would be challenging to play outside of the conference this week," Head Coach
Kathy Bullock said. "We played very sluggish and extremely inconsistent."
Emily Horn and
Danyale Berry each had 12 kills, while
Shayla Moss added six kills.
Katie Clark recorded a team-high 30 assists and
Breanna Wilton led the Pride with 13 digs.
The Pride will return to action Saturday when they travel to Pfeiffer University for another quad-match. Greensboro will take on Meredith College at 12 p.m. before squaring off with the host Falcons at 4 p.m.
