FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Joseph Gatling scored a team-high 25 points as the Greensboro College men's basketball team defeated Methodist University in USA South Athletic Conference play Saturday, 89-84.
Gatling scored the game's first bucket before the Monarchs took a six-point lead following an 8-0 run.
However, Greensboro used an 8-2 run to tie the game at 10 with just over 15-minutes remaining in the half.

Donavan Griffith,
Matteo Baggio, and Gatling each had two points during the run.
The two then traded baskets before the Pride used a 20-8 to establish its largest lead of the game at 32-22.
Hamilton Hawkins, who finished with 12 points, tallied five points during the run, while
Darus Maddox also chipped in five points.
Over the final seven minutes of the half, the Monarchs tried to chip into the Greensboro lead but the Pride took a 44-38 lead into halftime.
Methodist then used a 16-7 run over the first seven minutes of the final half to tie the game before taking a 54-51 lead.
However, Greensboro was able to rebound back to secure the five-point victory after connecting on seven free-throws over the final minute..
"Great road win," Head Coach
Bryan Galuski said. "I am proud of our guys for bouncing back after a rough road loss Wednesday.
"Joe and Darus were awesome down the stretch and made some very big offensive plays. We found a way to finish, total team effort."
Maddox finished with 19 points, while Griffith tallied 15 points. Gatling and
Demetrius Tilley pulled down a team-high four rebounds, while Hawkins recorded five assists.
