GREENSBORO, N.C. – Denis Radcliffe and
Gianni Gonzalez each tallied four goals, but the Greensboro College men's lacrosse team fell to Southern Virginia University Saturday, 19-15.
The Knights (1-3) jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Radcliffe and Gonzalez each struck to pull the Pride (1-5) to within one goal.
SVU got one goal back a minute later, but
Dominic Scott closed the gap once again for the Pride with 4:40 left in the first period.
After the Knights extended their lead to 6-3 with two early second-period goals, Radcliffe recorded his second goal to pull within two.
However, SVU took a 9-5 lead into halftime.
Gonzalez and Radcliffe each struck quickly following the break, but Greensboro could not pull even as SVU went on for the four-goal win.
Scott finished with three goals, while Jonathan Avedsian,
Jervon Speller,
Daniel Wolf, and Patrick Leonard each had one goal. Scott also finished with a team-high two assists.
