FERRUM, Va. – The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team fell to the Panthers of Ferrum College Wednesday, 20-9.
The Panthers scored the first three goals of the game before
Jervon Speller got Greensboro on the board.
Ferrum then extended its lead to 5-1 but
Gianni Gonzalez pulled Greensboro to within three goals off an assist by
Jonathan Avedesian.
The Panthers blew the game open with a 10-0 run before
Lamar Jelks stopped the bleeding with two goals, while
Daniel Wolf tallied one goal to put the Pride within 15-5.
Over the final 18 minutes, Greensboro scored four times, but it was not enough as Ferrum took the 11-goal victory. Dennis Radcliffe scored two of the final four goals, while
Joseph Stump and Gonzalez added one goal each.
"We came out extremely slow today and could not recover," Head Coach
Mike Foderaro said. "We will get back on the field to get ready for Senior Day."
Jelks, Radcliffe, and Gonzalez each had a team-high two goals, while Speller, Wolf, and Stump each had one goal.
Ethan Danser took the loss for Greensboro in goal.
