GREENSBORO, N.C. – Charles Stringfellow had four goals and three assists as the Greensboro College men's lacrosse team defeated Hilbert College Saturday 13-8, snapping a seven-game skid.
 
The Hawks (1-2) scored first before Stringfellow tied it 40 seconds later off an assist from Denis Radcliffe.
 
After HC retook the lead, the Pride (2-7) converted on its first man-up opportunity when Stringfellow found Jonathan Avedesian with an open look, tying the game again.
 
The Hawks then opened a two-goal lead, but Greensboro ran off three straight goals to take a 5-4 halftime lead. Austin Bane, Joseph Stump, and Daniel Wolf each had one goal, while Stringfellow added two assists.
 
Hilbert tied the game for a third time early in the third period, but Stringfellow recorded two goals off assists from Tamarie Sterling to put the Pride on top 7-5.
 
The Hawks pulled to within one goal midway through the period, but Greensboro reeled off five straight goals to put the game out of reach.  Jervon Speller, Gianni Gonzalez, Stringfellow, Stump, and Wolf each had one goal during the stretch, while Dominic Scott and Radcliffe recorded one assist each.
 
Lamar Jelks scored the Pride's final goal with 1:45 remaining.
 
"The men battled back hard today, and I could not be more proud," Head Coach Mike Foderaro said. "It feels great to get another win, and hopefully we can ride this momentum forward with the rest of the season."
 
Greensboro College dominated the face-off circle as Jelks won 20 of 22 face-offs.  Ethan Danser picked up the win in goal after making 10 saves.
