GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's soccer team played through hurricane like rain to defeat Mary Baldwin University, 13-0.
Katia Mezi got the scoring started for the Pride (8-3-1, 4-3-1 USA South) off an assist from a
Devin D'Agostin in the 14
th minute.
D'Agostin then scored a goal of her own five minutes later off an assist from
Samara Alba, before
Anna Rae Porcelli scored the game's next four goals.
Gabbriele Edinger , Alba,
Meghan Cole,
Mercedes Fisher,
Madison Karch, and
Caitlyn Cook each recorded at least one assist on Porcelli's goals.
Cook, Edinger, Karch, and Fisher added one goal each before the half, giving Greensboro an 11-0 halftime lead.
The Pride continued the scoring in second half as D'Agostin and
Briana Huber each tallied one goal before the game was called due to a heavy downpour of rain.
Taylor Horner picked up her first victory in goal for the Pride, while Brittany Tenn received the loss despite recording 10 saves.
"We welcomed hurricane Mathew to Pride Field today and my girls responded well." Head Coach
