Men's Soccer Shutout Against Lynchburg

Salem, Va. – The Greensboro College Pride Men's Soccer Team dropped their second match of the All Sports Café Roanoke College Invitational Soccer Tournament on Saturday.

The men faced off against Lynchburg College in their final match of the tournament. They would keep things knotted up at 0-0 going into the second half of play. Unfortunately for The Pride, Lynchburg would find the back of the net for the first goal of the contest in the 60th minute.

While trying to make a stand and fight back into the contest, Greensboro College would give up the second and final goal of the game in the 64th minute.  The Hornets would go on to defeat The Pride by a score of 2-0 on the final day of the tournament.

When asked about his team's performance in the match against Lynchburg, Head Coach Tony Falvino had this to say, "We lost 2-0. We played well at times and put together some good sequences of play, but lack quality in the final third (of the game). I give full credit to Lynchburg College as the capitalized on their chances."

The Greensboro College Pride Men's Soccer Team falls to a record of 1-3 on the season and will be back on the pitch in their next match on Wednesday September 16th at 7:30pm. They face off against the crosstown rivals, Guilford College, under the lights at Bryan Park. For the latest on Pride athletics, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
