LEXINGTON, VA – The Greensboro College men's soccer team fell to the Generals of Washington & Lee 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
After a tightly played first half, the Generals struck just before the intermission period with a goal by Kevin Lencioni putting the home team on top 1-0.
In the early minutes of the second period of play, senior
Shaun Watt fired shot from just inside the eighteen yard mark but the Washington & Lee keeper was able to push the shot wide to give Greensboro their third corner kick of the game.
Later in the game, the Generals found the back of the net for the final time securing a 2-0 victory.
Greensboro recorded nine shots on the day with five of them coming off frame. Watt led the way with two strikes on frame while
Craig Gage,
Carlos Barragan, and
Robbie Barnes each recorded one.
Despite stopping four Generals shots,
Jaime Payamps (0-1) took the loss in the net for Greensboro.
