Early Lead Not Enough As Pride Fall

EMORY, VA – The Greensboro College Pride baseball team (11-20) returned to the field for the second consecutive day on Wednesday afternoon. The Pride traveled to take on the Wasps of Emory & Henry where they fell by a 7-2 score.

Greensboro took an early 1-0 lead with a run in the second inning of play. Zach Neumeister reached base on an infield single before coming in to score on a Tyler Hendersonsingle through the left side of the infield.

Once Greensboro took the early one run lead Emory and Henry was able to come back to take a 3-1 lead heading into the top half of the fourth inning.

The Pride then scored their final run of the the game in the fourth inning before the Wasps pulled away for the 7-2 victory. Neumeister led off the inning with a double to left field before advancing over to third base on a groundout by Tyler Henderson. Following the Henderson groundout, Braedon Jewett placed a sacrifice fly into center field to score Neumiester making the score 3-2.

Brandon Soden led the way for the Pride with three hits while James WilkinsBrian Robbett, and Tyler Henderson each recorded one.

Mitch Choros took the loss on the mound.
