GREENSBORO, NC – The Greensboro College baseball team (11-19) returned home on Tuesday afternoon to take on the Hornets of Lynchburg College (9-17). The Pride battled back from an early deficit but the Hornets proved to be too strong falling by a 10-3 score.

Lynchburg jumped out to an early 2-0 following a single runs in the top half of the second and third innings of play.

After falling behind by the two run margin, Greensboro was able to tie the game in the top half of the third inning. After Brandon Soden and Jordan Powell reached base safely, Pride first basemen Andrew Toney scorched a ball down the left field line to tie the game at 2-2.

Following the two run third inning for the Pride, Lynchburg regained the lead at 10-2 following runs in the top half of the fourth and fifth innings.

With the Pride trailing by the eight run margin, Greensboro plated one run in the bottom half of the seventh inning. Tyler Henderson led off the inning with a single to right field before coming in to score on a Zach Neumeister RBI single through the middle of the infield making the score 10-3.

Greensboro was then able to get a runner on the base paths in the ninth inning but could not cash in falling by a 10-3 score.

Brandon Soden and Tyler Henderson led the way for the Pride at the plate finishing the day with three hits. Zach Neumeister, Devin Watkins, Andrew Toney, and Braedon Jewett also chipped in one hit apiece.

Drew Paice took the loss on the mound for the Pride after tossing the first three innings of play.
