Ferrum Runs Past Pride Men's Lacrosse

GREENSBORO, NC – The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team (3-7) hosted the Panthers of Ferrum College (5-7) on Wednesday afternoon on Pride Field. Greensboro jumped out to an early lead could not maintain it falling by a 12-7 score.

Denis Radcliffe got the scoring started with his first goal of the game with 7:52 to play in the opening quarter off a feed from Blaine Wise.

Once Greensboro established the one goal lead, the Panthers then ran off six straight goals over the next quarter and a half to take a 6-1 lead. Greensboro was able to tally one final goal in the second quarter of play, but Ferrum was able to take a 7-2 lead into the break.

Coming out of the intermission period, Greensboro was able to strike three times in the third quarter to go into the final quarter of play trailing 11-5. Nick SagravesDaniel Wolf, and Blaine Wise each accounted for one of the goals while Tamarie Sterling and Charles Stringfellow contributed assists.

Ferrum then scored their final goal of the game just under three minutes into the final frame before Denis Radcliffe scored two more times for the Pride. Radcliffe's two goals brought Greensboro to within five goals but could not gain any more ground falling 12-7.

Denis Radcliffe recorded three goals on the day to lead the Pride with teammate Blaine Wise recording two of his own. Daniel Wolf and Nick Sagraves recorded the other two goals.

The Panthers and Pride played to a even 31-31 mark in the groundball category. Goalkeeper (3-7) took the loss between the pipes despite making 18 saves and picking up a team high five groundballs with Kyle Chambers.

The Pride will return home for the final time on Saturday afternoon when the Hawks of Huntingdon College come to town for senior day. The first faceoff is set for 1:00 PM.
