BUENA VISTA, VA – Charles Stringfellow and Blaine Wise each recorded four goals on Saturday afternoon as the Pride men's lacrosse team (2-3) defeated the Knights of Southern Virginia (0-6) 14-10.

The Pride's Denis Radcliffe gave Greensboro a 2-0 lead after one period of play. Radcliffe's first goal of the period came at the 6:57 mark before scorching the net once more just eighty seconds later.

Southern Virginia was able to cut the Pride advantage in half at 2-1 just forty seconds into the second fame of play. Three minutes later, Stringfellow found the back of the net for the first time on the day when he took a feed from Radcliffe to push the advantage back to two goals at 3-1.

The Knights then came right back to take the lead at 4-3 following three goals in a sixty second span.

However Greensboro was able to quickly regain the lead at 5-4 following goals by Wise and Stringfellow.

In the final seven minutes of the first half, the two teams traded goals back and forth before going into the intermission period tied at 7-7.

Coming out of the halftime break Southern Virginia was able to take an 8-7 with 13:31 to play in the third frame.

Greensboro then came storming out with five unanswered goals to take a 12-8 lead into the final period of play. Gianni Gonzalez, Drew Farrell, Radcliffe, and Wise each accounted for at least on goal each durn the final thirteen minutes.

In the final frame of play, each team was able to find the back of the net two times each with the Pride coming out with the 14-10 victory.

Cody Cunningham picked up the win in the net for the Pride. Cunningham made eight saves on the day while picking up three groundballs.

The Pride men's lacrosse team will return to Pride Field on Friday afternoon at 12:00 PM as Hilbert comes to town.
