Hilbert Tops Pride Men On Friday Afternoon

GREENSBORO, NC – The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team saw their two game winning streak snapped on Friday afternoon. The Pride welcomed the Hawks of Hilbert College (1-2) to Pride Field, but fell by a final score of 14-7.

Hilbert jumped out to an early , 1-0, lead with 10:55 remaining in the first quarter of play, but Daniel Wolf took a feed from Blaine Wise to knot the game at 1-1 with 9:29 showing on the clock.

After Greensboro tied the game, the Hawks closed out the quarter with six unawnserd goals taking a 7-1 lead into the second quarter of play.

In the second quarter of play, Lamar Jelks scored three goals over the first seven minutes of the quarter to cut the deficit to 7-4. Once Jelks pulled Greensboro to within the three goal margin, Hilbert then scored the half's final two goals to take a, 9-4, lead into the intermission period.

Following halftime, Hilbert extended their margin to 10-4 before Drew Farrell found the back of the net for the sixth time on the season to bring the score to 10-5.

Denis Radcliffe and Lamar Jelks each scored a goal in the final period of play, but it was not enough  as the Pride fell to the Hawks by a 14-7 mark.

Drew Farrell led the way for the Pride with eight shots while Blaine Wise ripped seven.  Cody Cunningham took the loss in the net for the Pride despite stopping 13 shots.
