Men's Lacrosse Drops Tight Game Against Randolph

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team (3-5) returned to the field on Wednesday night to take on the Wildcats of Randolph College. The Pride found themselves in an early hole and could not bounce back falling 14-13.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 4-0 lead just five minutes into the opening quarter of play before Blaine Wise got the Pride on the board cutting the defeict to 4-1.

Randolph then responded with another goal before Greensboro rallied off three straight goals to pull within one goal at 5-4. Charles Stringfellow accounted for two of the goals, one of which was man up, before Wise found the back of the cage for a second time.

The Wildcats found the back of the net one more time to take at two goal, 6-4, lead into the second quarter of play.

In the second quarter of play, Greensboro and Randolph traded goals back and forth in the second quarter to send the Pride into the halftime break trailing 9-6.

After a tight third quarter of play, Greensboro trailed by four goals heading into the final period of play.

The Pride scored the first two goals of the final quarter of play to pull within two goals at 13-11. Stringfellow found the back of the net for the fourth time on the day while Blaine Wise tallied his fifth goal of the evening.

After the Wildcats scored on final goal, Gianni Gonzalez and Stringfellow beat the Wildcats keeper one time each but it was not enough.

Charles Stringfellow and Blaine Wise each recorded five goals in the contest while Denis Radcliffe, Daniel Wolf, and Gianni Gonzalez recorded one goal each.

Cody Cunningham took the loss in the net while stopping thirteen shots. Taylor Babb played the final minute of play in goal for the Pride stopping the only shot he faced.
