GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's basketball team fell 94-38 Thursday to the Spartans of UNCG in an exhibition contest.
Greensboro fell behind early in the first period 4-0, but tied the game at 8 with an 8-4 run.
Alexis Hite scored six of her team-high 10 points during the run.
After the Pride tied the game, the Spartans pulled away for the victory.
Heather Burton and
Jada Peterson chipped in eight points each for the Pride, while
Courtney Pearsal recorded five points.
Monica Smalls,
Kamerin Williams, and Burton each pulled down a team-high four rebounds.
Marla Crawford dished four assists.
"I was disappointed that we did not come ready to fight," Head Coach
Randy Tuggle said. "All that we ask the girls to do is go hard, but we only did that in spurts."
The Pride women will return to the court Friday at 7 p.m. against the Panthers of High Point University. The exhibition contest will be the final tune-up before the Pride opens regular season play Oct. 18 against Guilford College.
