HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's basketball team dropped its final exhibition contest Friday against High Point University 82-49.
Greensboro kept close in the first period until the Panthers used a 7-0 run to pull ahead by 15.
As the second period progressed, Greensboro was able to keep the Panthers from stretching the deficit to head into the intermission trailing 45-29.
Alexis Hite capped a 7-0 run with a long trey to pull the Pride to within 48-36 early in the third segment, but High Point pulled away for the victory.
"I feel like we made some good improvements from our last time out," Head Coach
Randy Tuggle said. "We are still trying to fill some holes in our rotation, but I am looking forward to getting our regular season underway next week."
Hite finished the evening with a team-high 11 points, while
Monica Smalls,
Marla Crawford, and
Alyssa Carbone each chipped in six points. Smalls also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, while
Kamerin Williams and
Da Jah Joyner collected five rebounds apiece.
