STAUNTON, Va. – The Greensboro College women's soccer team finished its regular season Thursday with a 5-1 victory over Mary Baldwin.
Mary Baldwin established an early lead before Megan Cole recorded her seventh goal of the season off an assist from
Lauren Greeson to tie the game.
After halftime, Greeson collected her 10th goal of the season to put the Pride on top 2-1.Following Greeson's goal,
Samara Alba tallied two goals, while
Amanda Foley also contributed one goal to secure the four-goal victory.
"We came out sloppy today, but I am proud of the team for correcting the breakdowns," Head Coach
Gus Mota said. "We were predicted to finish in seventh, but we finished sixth. I am really proud of our team for their play during the regular season, but we now turn our focus to the tournament."
Lauren Greeson had a team-high seven shots, while
Amanda Foley,
Samara Alba,
Victoria Braden, and
Hannah Stiles recorded at least one shot.
