GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's soccer team held off the Scots of Covenant College 1-0 Monday for the Pride's seventh straight victory.
The Pride (9-4-1, 6-0-1 USA South) outshot the Scots, 23-3.
Shaun Watt scored the game's lone goal in the 65
th minute off an assist by
Robbie Barnes.
"Today was a good performance by the boy's," Head Coach
Tony Falvino said. "Covenant played with a lot of fight, but we have to make the most of our opportunities in front of goal. We are excited for this upcoming weekend as we host Maryville College and Piedmont College."
Carlos Barragan had a team-high eight shots, while
Craig Gage,
Robbie Barnes,
Scott Fatyol,
Warren Washington, and
Liam Buckley recorded at least one shot each.
Jamie Payamps recorded two saves.
