STAUNTON, Va.—The Greensboro College volleyball team looked to improve on their seven game winning streak on Saturday afternoon as they traveled to Mary Baldwin for their second conference quad match of the season.
The Pride saw their streak come to an end in the opening match of the day as they fell to the Avenging Angels of Meredith College by a 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-12) score.
Liz Widenhouse led Greensboro College with 12 kills in the match. Widenhouse also led the Pride in digs with 12 while Darrian Bolt and Bari Tressler each passed for 12 assists.
After dropping the opening match of the day, Greensboro College the fell to the Monarchs of Methodist University in their final match of the day 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-14).
Widenhouse once again led Greensboro College in kills with 10, while Megan Baranko contributed seven kills. Bari Tressler passed for a team high 11 assists.
With the pair of defeats on Sunday, the Pride's overall record falls to 11-6 overall while falling to 4-2 in USA South play. The Greensboro College volleyball team will return to action Tuesday night as they travel to cross town rival Guilford College at 7:00 PM. The Pride defeated the Quakers by a 3-1 score in their first meeting of the season on September 6th.
