GREENSBORO, NC---The Pride women's soccer team (9-7-1, 7-4-1 USAS) cruised past Mary Baldwin (2-14, 0-12 USAS) 6-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Melanie Raton got the scoring started off less than a minute into the opening period. Raton broke down the right side of the field and her shot sailed over the keeper making it 1-0. Lauren Greeson tacked on the second goal five minutes later when her shot from 30 yards out bounced over keeper for the 2-0 advantage.
Greensboro notched their third goal in the sixth minute when Ericka Nash tapped in a ball that came flying off the cross bar pushing the lead to 3-0. In the 31st minute Keegan Bickel scored off an assist by Rachel Lemons making it 4-0. The final goal of the half came in the 40th minute when Sydney Boggs played a long through ball that Meghan Cole scored on taking a 5-0 lead heading into intermission.
Greeson go the lone goal of the half when she beat the keeper en route to the 6-0 victory. Tyesha Hardy made her lone save of the game in the 71st minute keeping the blank sheet.
The Pride outshot their opponents 32-2 and 13-1 on target. Greensboro also held a 5-0 edge on corner kicks. Boggs and Raton led the way with five shots apiece. Cole was close behind with four shots.
