GREENSBORO, NC---The Greensboro women's soccer team (6-5-1, 4-2-1 USAS) outlasted LaGrange College (5-10, 2-6 USAS) 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. Allison Gibson scored the game's final two goals in the final 15 minutes of the game for the victory.

The Pride got on the board first in the 14th minute when Melanie Raton volleyed home the ball off a corner by Elizabeth Torres for the 1-0 lead. Both teams fought hard during the remainder of the half with the score remaining 1-0 going into half.

The Panthers came out of the break tying it up in the 49th minute at 1-1.  Over the next 25 minutes, Greensboro fired eight shots with seven on frame before the Pride retook the lead in the 75th minute.

Gibson buried a ball in the back of the net that was headed across the box by Lauren Greeson for the 2-1 advantage. During the next 13 minutes, Greensboro fired six shots; when Gibson beat the keeper again in the 88th minute off a long through ball by Meghan Cole winning the game 3-1.

In the game, Greensboro held a 30-3 edge in shots, with 13 coming on target. The Pride also held a 5-1 margin in corners. Gibson led the way with eight shots, five on goal and Greeson had seven shots, three on frame. Jessica Thatcher picked up the win in net making one save.

The Pride returns to action on Wednesday September 15th under the lights at William Peace University. The match is set for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
