Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Pride Men Roll Over Panthers 4-0

GREENSBORO, NC---The Greensboro men's soccer team (7-6-0 Overall, 5-1-0 USA South) played their second game in two days on Sunday afternoon. The Pride welcomed the Panthers of LaGrange College to Pride field, and was able to come away with a 4-0 victory.

With the score tied at 0-0 twenty minutes into the opening period of play, the Pride's Scott Fatyol broke the scoreless match with a shot to the bottom right corner of the goal. Greensboro College had more opportunities in the half, but was unable to find the back of the net taking a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

After the intermission period, Greensboro College was able to put more distance between themselves and the Panthers. Robbie Barnes found the net two times in the span of eight seconds as the game entered the 85th minute of play. Just five minutes later, Jared Heller would put the game's final goal in the back of the net off a feed from Joel Cortez giving Greensboro the 4-0 victory.

Greensboro College controlled the pace of the game from the start. The Pride held a commanding 30-1 advantage in shots while recording 13 corner kick opportunities.

Robbie Barnes and Shaun Watt each had six shots in the contest while nine other players accounted for at least one shot a piece.

Logan Rohde picked up the shutout win for the Pride on the day.

With the win, the Greensboro College men move into a first place tie in the USA South with North Carolina Wesleyan. The Pride men's soccer team will return to action on Wednesday afternoon against William Peace University.  The game is set to get underway at 4:30 PM.
