Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Pride Men Top Pacers 3-2

CARY, N.C.—The Greensboro College men's soccer team returned to action on Wednesday evening against the William Peace University Pacers. The Greensboro College Pride men entered the matchup with the Pacers on a three game winning streak. The Pride was able to extend the streak to four games with a 3-2 victory.

The Pacers got on the board in the 8th minute of play taking an early 1-0 lead. After the Pride went down 1-0, they were able to score three straight goals to take a 3- lead. Robbie Barnes found the equalizer in the 16th minute of play before George Dimopoulos took a feed from Shaun Watt putting the Pride up 2-1.

Later in the period, Craig Gage found the back of the net for the Pride in the 31st minute of play before the Pacers were able to pull within one goal at 3-2 heading into the halftime break.

After the intermission period, neither team was able to tack on another goal as the Pride held on for the 3-2 victory.

Greensboro College had an 13-9 advantage in the shot category on the day and a 8-2 mark in corners.  George Dimopoulos led the way for the Pride with four shots while Joel Cortez and Craig Gage added two shot a piece.

Logan Rohde picked up the win for the Pride in net.

With the win, the Pride men improve their record to 8-6 overall and 6-1 in USA South Athletic Conference play.  The Pride men will play their final regular season home game on Pride field against Ferrum College. The game is set for 1:00 PM and the Pride will recognize their senior class prior to the contest.
