Men's Soccer Blanks Huntingdon 1-0

GREENSBORO, NC---The Pride men's soccer team (6-6, 4-1 USAS) shutout visiting USA South opponent Huntingdon College (2-6-3, 1-3-1 USAS) 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Greensboro got on the board first in the 18th minute when Craig Gage scored off a free kick just inside the box that was placed in the lower right side of the net. The Pride continued to apply heavy pressure outshooting their opponents 6-2 for the half. The score remained 1-0 going into the intermission break.

In the second half, Greensboro continued to dominate the Hawks outshooting them 15-5. The Pride had close opportunities but Huntingdon kept the ball of the net with Greensboro winning 1-0.

For the game, Greensboro held a 21-7 advantage on shots and 15-5 on corner kicks. Marco Figueroa led the way with three shots. Seven Pride players had two shots apiece; Robbie Barnes, Morgan Stevenson, Asa Britten, Scott Fatyol, Warren Washington, Adam Smith and Gage.  

Logan Rohde picked up the shutout win in goal making three saves.

Greensboro returns to action tomorrow on Pride Field when they welcome USA South opponent LaGrange College. The kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
