Rachel Young

Rachel Young, from Cary, North Carolina, enters her third year with the Pride after joining the Greensboro College Sports Medicine Staff in August 2021. She primarily works with football, men’s basketball, golf, and baseball. In her first two years at Greensboro, she worked with volleyball and swimming. Prior to coming to Greensboro College, Rachel completed student rotations at Carson Newman University, working with primarily basketball, dance, and cheer, as well as with football at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Furman University. Rachel graduated from Western Carolina University in 2019 with a Bachelors in Psychology. She then went on to graduate from Moravian College in 2021 where she completed her Masters of Science in Athletic Training. Rachel has presented twice at the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Convention on “The Effects of Blood Flow Restriction in Improving Shoulder Muscular Strength versus Traditional Exercise Strengthening: A Critically Appraised Topic” and “Female Athletic Trainers’ Perceptions of Challenges associated with Providing Athletic Training Services to Collegiate Ice Hockey Players”.

Rachel is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and is certified in Mental Health First Aid . She also holds an instructor certification through American Red Cross. She lives in High Point with her dog, Belle.
