Greensboro College Pride

2021 Spring: Started all three games at defensive end and led all defensive lineman with 18 tackles (13 solo) while leading the team in sacks (3 for 21 yards). Byrd added 5 tackles-for-loss and one pass breakup. Byrd tallied nine tackles, 2.5 sacks for 17 yards, and 3.5 tackles-for-loss for 22 yards in the April 3 contest at Sewanee. He posted seven tackles with one tackle for a loss in the March 6 matchup against Methodist.

2019: Played in a ten games as the Pride's starting linebacker, posting 71 tackles (second on the team), 1.5 sacks, eight tackles-for-loss, and three forced fumbles. He tallied a career-high 13 tackles in the September 28 matchup at Gallaudet. His 2.5 tackles-for-loss were also a season-high. Byrd also posted nine-tackle efforts in the September 14 matchup against Ferrum and the October 12 game at N.C. Wesleyan.

2018: Played in ten games, starting six, at linebacker where he posted 58 tackles, three sacks, five tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Byrd posted two sacks with an 84-yard fumble recovery in the September 8 matchup against Gallaudet. His 13 tackles in the September 22 matchup at Ferrum was a career-high. Byrd amassed nine tackles with one sack in the October 27 at Huntingdon.

2017: Played in three contests at linebacker, amassing nine tackles. Byrd tallied seven tackles in the November 4 matchup at Ferrum.

PREP: Juwarren was a member of the football, track and field teams at Tift County High School. During his time with the Tift County football team, Byrd earned second-team All-Region honors, while leading the 7-A division in tackles. He is the son of Felica Cromer and Glendon Byrd. He also has one sibling, Juanjava.
