Aldine Payne

Aldine Payne joins the Pride staff in the Spring of 2022 with a wealth of knowledge and experience after nearly four decades in the high school ranks in Davidson, Forsyth, and Guilford Counties. This experience includes 5 seasons as the head coach at Robert B. Glenn High School in Kernersville, NC, and 20 seasons as Defensive Coordinator at Glenn, TW Andrews, and Central Davidson High Schools.

Over those seasons Coach Payne was able to help foster future NFL players Adrian Wilson, William Hayes, Josh Hawkins, and Chris DeGear. A long list of future FBS stars also blossomed under Payne’s mentorship including Quentin Cotton (ECU All-Decade Team 2000-2010), Nathan McKinney (All-American Punter at Appalachian State), and Freddie Aughtry-Lindsay (NC State standout player and current NC State DBs Coach).

Payne is a 1985 graduate of Guilford College. He currently resides in High Point, NC with his wife Kim. He is the father of 2 daughters: Katie Cannon and Alex Phillips and the proud grandfather of 4: Ryleigh and Hendrix Cannon, Lexi and Bowen Phillips.
