Misenheimer, NC - Greensboro College Softball played in game two of the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament on Friday and defeated #1 seed Pfeiffer 8-1. The win puts Greensboro one win away from the conference championship series.
The Pride got the scoring started in the third inning when
Kenly Brown hit a three-run home run to give Greensboro a 3-0 lead.
After a run scored on a sac bunt in the fourth ,
Alexis Lynch knocked in two runs with a double to extend the lead to 6-0.
Katherine Connell then drove in a run to take a 7-0 lead.
After a Pfeiffer run scored in the fifth, Brown would hit an RBI single in the sixth to extend the lead again to 8-1.
Ella Ebert threw a complete game in the circle. She would strike out three while giving up four hits.
Greensboro will play Pfeiffer on Sunday with a chance to advance to the championship series next week. They will play Sunday at 1:00 pm with an if necessary game at 3:00 pm.
