Misenheimer, NC - Greensboro College Softball played in the final two games of the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament on Sunday afternoon. The Pride fell in both games, ending the 2026 season.
Game One:
Game one went to Pfeiffer 8-0. The Falcons took an early 6-0 lead after two innings to take command of the game. Greensboro was only able to total one hit on the contest, while Pfeifer would pull out to an 8-0 advantage after four innings.
Greensboro wouldn't be able to score in the fifth, ending the game in five innings.Â
Game Two:
Pfeiffer earned a 3-1 win in game two to advance to the conference championship series next week. Greensboro was down 3-0 going into the final inning, but put up a fight and almost came back to tie the game.
Paydon Reynolds hit a double with one out in the seventh, followed by a walk from
Raven Taylor. Later,
Mason Browning hit a pinch-hit RBI double to get Greensboro on the board and put the tying run on base. Unfortunately, the Pride couldn't come up with the game-tying hit, ending the rally.
Ella Ebert went all six innings, giving up three runs and walking two.Â
The Pride end the season with 26 wins, the fifth straight season the team has had at least 25 wins.Â
