Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College Men's Lacrosse hosted Methodist in the first round of the USA South Tournament on Saturday afternoon and fell 11-8, ending the Pride's season.
Greensboro got out to a 3-2 lead after the first quarter.
Justin Barry and
Seth Woods combined for the three goals in the first period. The Pride then outscored the Monarchs 2-1 in the second to take a 5-3 halftime lead.
Methodist came out strong in the second half, scoring five goals in the third quarter and took command of the game. Greensboro battled to stay in the game, but the Monarchs pulled away late in the fourth to advance to the semifinals of the tournament.Â
Barry would lead the Pride with four goals.
Quinton Solomon had eight ground balls. In goal,
Braeden Mitchell had twenty-one saves on the afternoon.
Greensboro finishes the season tied with the most wins in a season in program history with 12. They went 5-3 in conference play and 7-1 at home.
