Men's Lacrosse Earns 14-7 Win Over Monarchs on Senior Day

Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College Men's Lacrosse (11-3, 5-2) earned a 14-7 senior day win over Methodist (7-7, 4-3) and locked up a first round home game in the conference tournament.

Both offenses got off to a slow start, as Greensboro held a 1-0 advantage after the first quarter. The Monarchs turned up their offense in the second, scoring 4 goals to Greensboro's 2, and they would take a 4-3 lead at halftime.

However, Greensboro came out firing in the third quarter, scoring 6 goals and took a 9-5 lead heading to the fourth. That lead would only grow, as they scored 5 more fourth quarter goals and cruised to their 7th home win of the season.

With the win, Greensboro finishes the regular season 7-0 at home, the first perfect home season since the team went 9-0 in 2009. The win also moves the team just a victory away from tying the program record for total wins in a season, which is 12.

Justin Barry also became the first men's lacrosse player to reach 100 points in a season in program history. Barry scored 5 goals with 1 assist on the afternoon, bringing his season total to a conference-leading 58 goals and 101 points.

Seth Woods scored 3 goals with 3 assists in this one, while Alex Mattoon scored twice with 2 assists. Quinton Solomon totaled 12 ground balls and won 14 face-offs. In goal, Braeden Mitchell had 8 saves and earned his 10th win of the season.
