Raleigh, NC - Greensboro College Softball (7-5) took on Muhlenburg and #2 Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday and were defeated in both games.
Game One:Â
Greensboro fell to Muhlenburg 3-1 in the first game of the day. After being down 2-0, Greensboro cut the score to 2-1 in the sixth inning after a
Mason Browning RBI groundout. However, Muhlenburg got the run back in the seventh, and Greensboro wouldn't be able to muster up anymore runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Greensboro could only come up with 3 hits in this one, as
Anna Frazier,
Katherine Connell, and
Alexis Lynch each had 1 hit. Frazier pitched a complete game for the Pride, giving up 3 runs and striking out 1.
Game Two:
The Pride were defeated 7-1 by Virginia Wesleyan in the final game of the day. The Marlins scored the first 6 runs of the game in just the first two innings. Greensboro scored their lone run in the third inning on an
Anna Frazier home run. Frazier's homer was the only hit for the Pride.
Kenly Brown got the start in the circle, while
Ella Ebert pitched the final 4.2 innings.Â
Notes:
- Frazier ranks third in the USA South in ERA at 2.10.
- The Pride offense has scored just 1 run in each of the last three games after scoring 17 in their two games prior.
