Raleigh, NC - Greensboro College Softball (7-3) took on two ODAC opponents on Saturday in Lynchburg and Averett at the Triangle Classic. They took down Lynchburg 7-3 while falling to Averett 3-1.
Game One:
Greensboro got the bats going in game one as they scored 7 runs. They tied the game 1-1 in the second after an
Ella Ebert RBI single. They then scored 5 runs in the fourth thanks to timely hitting and mistakes by the Hornets' defense.
The Pride scored their final run in the sixth on an
Alexis Lynch RBI single, as Greensboro cruised to the victory.
Kenly Brown threw a complete game in the circle, giving up just 1 earned run and striking out 4.
Raven Taylor went 3-3 at the plate with 2 walks and an RBI.
Olivia Hyatt drew 3 walks on the game.
Game Two:
The bats fell quiet in game two as Averett snuck out a 3-1 win. Greensboro comitted 4 errors in the field for the game, which helped lead to the Cougars' 3-run fifth inning.
Raina Hampel got the start for Greensboro and went 5.0 innings, striking out 2.
Anna Frazier finished the game out of the bullpen and struck out 3.Â
Up Next:
Greensboro will play Sunday against Muhlenburg (11:00 am) and West Virginia Wesleyan (1:00 pm).
