Raleigh, NC - Greensboro College Softball (6-2) played in day one of the Triangle Classic on Friday, falling to The College of New Jersey 7-0 and then throwing a combined no-hitter against Gallaudet in game two, winning 10-0.
Game One:
Greensboro couldn't get the bats going in game one, totaling 13 strikeouts and 3 hits. TCNJ got all of their runs in the third inning, where the first eight batters reached base, including 2 Greensboro errors and a TCNJ grand slam.
Anna Frazier got the start in the circle and went 2.0 innings while
Raina Hampel pitched the final 4.0 innings.
Game Two:
It was a different story in game two of the day as the trio of
Ella Ebert,
Nevaeh Buchanan, and
Leah Leonard combined for a 10 strikeout no-hitter. The no-hitter is the second in as many seasons for the program.
Ebert went 3.0 innings and struck out 8. Buchanan and Leonard each went 1.0 inning, while Leonard had 2 strikeouts.
At the plate,
Kenly Brown had 3 hits and 3 RBI.
Olivia Hyatt drove in 2 runs while Frazier went 1-3 with a double and an RBI.
Kylie Nerell and
Alexis Lynch each had a double.
Notes:
- The last no-hitter came on opening day last season when Frazier and Hampel combined for one against Centre.
- Brown now has 5 hits in her last two starts at the plate.
- The team's 10 runs is the most they have scored this season in a single game.

- Greensboro will play Lynchburg (1:30 pm) and Averett (4:00 pm) on Saturday in Raleigh.
