Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College Softball (9-10, 0-1) dropped two games to NC Wesleyan (15-7-1, 4-1) on Saturday in their conference opening games.
Game One:
Greensboro couldn't find the offense in game one, mustering 5 hits and 2 runs. After each team scored once in the first, the Bishops scored one in the second and then three in the sixth after a key error by the Pride defense. That's all NC Wesleyan would need, as they would finish off Greensboro to earn the win.
Kenly Brown went 4.1 innings in the circle giving up 2 runs and striking out 2.
Alexis Lynch led the offense with 2 hits and an RBI.
Game Two:
Offense was again hard to come by in game two, as Greensboro fell 3-1. The Pride defense also made 2 errors in the game, which turned out to be the difference as two unearned runs scored off the errors.Â
Anna Frazier pitched well for the Pride, going 3.2 innings and giving up just 1 earned run on 77 pitches. The offense totaled 5 hits, 2 of those coming from
Olivia Hyatt.
Kenly Brown also added a double.
