Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College Softball (11-11, 2-2) swept conference foe Methodist (6-18, 2-4) on Sunday afternoon at Barber Park for their first two conference wins of the season.
Game One:
Greensboro needed extra innings to win game one 5-4. The game went nine innings, the longest game of the season for the Pride. The teams would answer scores by the other throughout the game, but in the ninth it was
Kenly Brown who was the walk-off hero, driving home
Katherine Connell to get the win.
Methodist took the lead in the top of the eighth, but Greensboro answered with a run of their own, while
Raina Hampel kept the Monarchs off the board in the ninth. Hampel pitched a complete game to get the win. She totaled 5 strikeouts and just 1 earned run. Brown had a career high 4 hits on the afternoon with 2 RBI.
Game Two:
The Pride shutout Methodist 5-0 in game two.
Ella Ebert was the star in the circle going 6.0 innings with 3 strikeouts.
Anna Frazier and
Kenly Brown both had 3 hits, while Frazier had 3 RBI. The team totaled 11 hits with 2 walks.
Erica Chaney also had a solid day at the plate, going 2-2 with an RBI.
Alexis Lynch chipped in with a double.

Greensboro travels to Meredith next Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 pm.
