Testerman's Historic Game, Strong Pitching Leads Baseball to Series Win Over Pfeiffer

Misenheimer, NC - Greensboro College Baseball (12-9, 4-2) exploded offensively on Saturday, rolling past Pfeiffer University (9-13, 4-2) 23–8 in the opening game of a USA South doubleheader at Joe Ferebee Field, and followed that with a 9-1 victory in game two.

Game One:
In game one, Trevor Testerman delivered a historic performance, going 5-for-7 with four home runs, 10 RBI, and 5 runs scored. The four home runs is a program and USA South record for home runs in a single game. The offense was also supported by Evan Sykes (4-for-7, 4 runs), Jacob Severson (4-for-7, 4 runs), and Jaycob Caseres, who added three RBI.

Isaiah Ralls got the start on the mound for Greensboro, working 4.1 innings before the bullpen combined for the remaining frames. Grayson Curtis would pick up the win after pitching 1.2 innings out of the bullpen. The bullpen would throw 4.2 innings with just one earned run given up.

Game Two:
After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, Greensboro responded quickly and stayed in control the rest of the way. The Pride plated runs in the second and fourth innings before adding insurance throughout, including a five-run ninth inning to put the game out of reach.

Greensboro totaled 15 hits and consistently produced with runners on base. Brayden Sands led the way with a standout 4-5 performance and two RBI. Alex Vazquez added a home run as part of his 2-5 day, while Tyler Alverio also recorded two hits and drove in a run. Jaycob Caseres delivered a team-high three RBI, and multiple others contributed to a balanced offensive effort.

On the mound, Carter Malartsik (1-0) earned the win, throwing 6.0 strong innings and allowing just one run on four hits. Isaiah Faudoa came in to secure the save, closing out the final 3.0 innings to seal the victory.

Notes:
- The win in game two is Malartsik's first career win.
- The 23 runs scored in game one is the most the team has scored in a game this season.
