Women's Lacrosse Taken Down by Pfeiffer on Saturday

Misenheimer, N.C. — Greensboro College Women's Lacrosse (2-7, 1-3) dropped a USA South matchup Saturday afternoon, falling 20–4 to Pfeiffer University (8-3, 2-2).

Pfeiffer controlled the momentum early, netting six goals in the opening quarter. Greensboro's Genesis Chinchilla, Ashley Angel, and goalkeeper D'Kayla Thomasson contributed multiple ground balls and defensive stops, but turnovers limited the Pride's transition opportunities.

Greensboro broke through in the second quarter as Brynly ManWaring scored her first of two goals on a man-up opportunity at the 12:35 mark. Keira Fenyo added a goal later in the period, cutting into Pfeiffer's lead. Despite the offensive spark, Pfeiffer maintained control, taking a 14–2 advantage at the half.

The Pride continued to battle in the second half. With Aaliyah Akers taking over in goal to start the third quarter, Greensboro added its third tally when ManWaring scored again on a man-up situation, assisted by Fenyo. Akers made several strong saves as Pfeiffer continued to apply pressure.

Greensboro closed its scoring in the fourth quarter when Fenyo recorded her second goal of the day—another man-up conversion with 2:55 remaining. Pfeiffer added three fourth quarter goals to secure the 20–4 final.
