LaGrange, GA - Greensboro College Men's Lacrosse (7-1, 1-0) defeated LaGrange (0-6, 0-2) in their conference opener on Saturday 23-5.
Greensboro got out to a 6-0 lead after the first quarter.
Seth Woods opened the game with a goal followed by a goal from
Justin Barry.
Will Pailthorpe scored the third goal for the Pride as the route was on early.
Greensboro scored 8 goals in the second quarter, as the Pride took a 14-1 lead going into halftime. It was more of the same in the third, as Greensboro put up another 7 goals. The Panthers scored 4 second half goals, but that wouldn't be nearly enough as Greensboro took home the 23-5 victory.
Chas Gilroy and Woods led the team with 4 goals each, while
Alex Mattoon and Barry scored 3 each. Barry also had 7 assists, a season high.
Quinton Solomon led the team with 8 ground balls and won 9 faceoffs.
Braeden Mitchell earned the win in goal, collecting 8 saves.
Notes:
- Greensboro's 23 goals are the third most they have scored in a game this season.
- Woods and Barry sit 2nd and 3rd respectively in goals scored in the USA South.
- Barry is tied for the lead in the USA South with 25 assists.
