Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College Men's Basketball (10-16, 6-8) had their season end on Tuesday as they fell to Methodist (11-14, 6-8) in the first round of the USA South Tournament 82-70.
It was a tough go for the Greensboro offense, as they scored just 27 first half points on 10-25 shooting. They also shot just 2-8 from long range. The Monarchs shot 48% and 5-11 from behind the arc in the half.
The Pride offense did score 43 points in the second half, but couldn't come up with enough stops to close the gap. They outscored Methodist 43-41 in half number two, shooting 50% from the floor.
One key area that Greensboro struggled was the free throw line, shooting 12-19 (63%). Meanwhile, Methodist shot 23-25 from the charity stripe.Â
DJ Jackson scored 25 points with 8 rebounds while
Jalen Thorns scored 17 points, a season high.Â
