Greensboro, NC - It was a perfect day at Barber Park as Greensboro College Softball (2-0) swept their season-opening games against Roanoke College (0-2) on Saturday afternoon.
Game One: Greensboro 3, Roanoke 2
Greensboro won in come-from-behind fashion in game one. After the Maroons got out to an early 1-0 lead,
Jordyn Tong hit a home run in her first at-bat of the season to tie the game 1-1.
Roanoke took the lead again in the third inning, and would lead 2-1 going into the bottom of the sixth. It was junior catcher
Katherine Connell who played the hero, as she ripped a two-run single to center field in the sixth to give Greensboro the lead.
Freshman
Kenly Brown, who came in relief of starter
Raina Hampel, shut the door in the seventh and earned her first career win in the circle.Â
The offense totaled 5 hits on the day with 3 walks. Hampel went 4.1 innings in the circle, giving up just 1 earned run with 3 strikeouts. Brown would throw 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up just 1 hit.
Game Two: Greensboro 3, Roanoke 1
The strong pitching remained the theme for Greensboro in game two as senior

With the game tied 1-1, Frazier would come through with the game-winning hit in the fifth inning on a two-RBI single to center field.
