Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro College Volleyball team (3-0) traveled to Guilford College (4-2) on Friday night and took home a 3-1 victory. It is the Pride's second straight win against the Quakers, as they defeated Guilford 3-1 in last season's matchup.

Greensboro got out to an 8-2 lead in the first set, as it looked as if the Pride would take an early 1-0 lead. However, the Quakers stormed back and would win the set 26-24 to take momentum into set number two.

Greensboro didn't let the Guilford comeback in the first set faze them, as they took set two, 25-17. The third set was a tight battle until the Pride pulled away late to win 25-19, taking a 2-1 lead in the match.

The third set was also a back-and-forth battle, but the Quakers would make a few unforced errors followed by three Payton Shiflet kills, and Greensboro secured their third win of the 2025 season.

Shiflet led all players with 20 kills, her first 20 kill match of the year. She also had 20 digs. Morgan Mayfield played superb defensively, collecting a season-high 29 digs. Karla del Castillo and Taylor Cotie combined for 7 blocks on the night. Skylar Rokov also had 3 blocks of her own.

As a team, Greensboro had 61 kills compared to Guilford's 42. Each team had 9 blocks on the night. Other key contributors for Greensboro included Kelci Brooks, who had 16 kills, and Jaylyn Templeton, who had 44 assists.

Greensboro will have a quick turnaround, as their next match is on the road at Clinton College in Rock Hill, SC on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
