Greensboro, NC - It was another sweep for Greensboro College Volleyball (9-2, 5-0) on Saturday as they defeated Mary Baldiwn (5-10, 0-3) by a 3-0 score. The team's 5-0 start in conference play is the first time they have started 5-0 since 2014.
Prior to the game, senior
Jaylyn Templeton was honored after achieving 3,000 career assists and 1,000 career digs. Templeton is the only player in program history to achieve both in a career.
Greensboro took set one by the score of 25-10. They had 12 kills with a .212 hitting percentage. Set two went to the Pride 25-13 as they had another 12 kills in the set. The final set was a little closer early on, but Greensboro finished off the Fighting Squirrels again 25-13 as they won 12 of the final 14 points.Â
Payton Shiflet led the Pride in kills with 12 while
Morgan Mayfield had 21 digs. Templeton had 18 assists while
Grace Young had 3 service aces.
Karla del Castillo and
Taylor Cotie each had 2 blocks.
Greensboro will host Salem College on Wednesday in a key USA South Conference match, as both remain undefeated in conference play this year. Start time is set for 7:00 pm.
