Greensboro, NC - Behind the bats of
Chris Le and
Jake Duffy, along with an all-around strong performance from the pitching staff, Greensboro Baseball took down Guilford on Wednesday 8-4. With the win, the Pride evened the season series 1-1.
The Quakers had a 1-0 lead after the top of the third, but Greensboro scored four runs in the bottom of the third to take a 4-1 lead.
Dominic Scavone had a two-RBI single to give the Pride the lead, and later
Evan Sykes drove in a run. The fourth run came on a two out error by Guilford.
Three more runs scored in the fourth for Greensboro as they opened the lead to 7-1. The Quakers came back with three of their own in the fifth, but that would be all for Guilford offensively. The Pride added one more run in the seventh and the bullpen shut the door on any comeback attempt by Guilford.
Michael Richards got the win in relief. The win puts him tied for eighth all-time in program history in wins.
