Softball Splits Series Against William Peace; Ebert Hits Walk-Off Single in Game 2

Greensboro, NC - Greensboro Softball split a doubleheader with William Peace on Saturday, falling in game one 9-6 and winning in 8 innings in game two 3-2.

Game One: WPU 9, Greensboro 6

It was a back-and-forth affair in game one, as the Pacers out-slugged the Pride by scoring nine runs. Greensboro had a 3-1 lead early, but the Pacers scored three runs in the third inning to retake the lead. Greensboro then took a 6-4 lead with two runs in the third and one in the fourth frame.

In the fifth, Kimberly Bordeaux hit a three-run home run to take a 7-6 lead, and that would end up being the game-winning hit as William Peace wouldn't relinquish the lead again.

For Greensboro, Raven Taylor, Anna Frazier, and Ella Ebert all had two hits. Frazier also had a 3 RBI game.

Game Two: Greensboro 3, WPU 2 (F/8)

Greensboro walked-off the Pacers in game two after a pitchers' duel. Anna Frazier and Bordeaux went the entire way in the circle, with Frazier getting the win.

Frazier gave Greensboro a 2-0 lead in the 5th inning on a two-RBI single. In the 6th, the Pacers tied the game with a two out single. In the 8th, Ella Ebert came in clutch, as she hit the game-winning single that scored Sophie Conger to give Greensboro their 28th win of the year.

Earlier in the game, Ivy Ray broke the all-time stolen base record for the softball program, stealing her 70th career base. For Frazier, she struck out a career-high 7 batters in the circle.

The Pride will play Pfeiffer on Sunday for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 pm.
