Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro softball team swept a doubleheader against Ferrum College on Thursday afternoon at Barber Park. In game one, Greensboro run-ruled the Panthers 11-3 while later taking game two 8-4.

Game One: Greensboro 11, Ferrum 3

The Pride got out to an early 3-1 lead after the first inning of game one. After going down 1-0, Greensboro scored three runs after Olivia Hyatt reached on an error that scored Anna Frazier, a wild pitch scored Ivy Ray, and Katherine Connell hit an RBI single to score Hyatt.

The Pride led 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth when Raven Taylor hit her second home run of the season to make it 5-3. Greensboro then scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth to finish off the Panthers 11-3.

Raina Hampel got the start in the circle for Greensboro and went 3.0 innings while giving up no earned runs. Ella Ebert got the two inning save and gave up four hits and one earned run. At the plate, the Pride totaled fourteen hits. Ray and Frazier had three hits each while Connell and Ebert had two each.

Game Two: Greensboro 8, Ferrum 4

Greensboro didn't stop the scoring in game two as they put up eight more runs. Four of those runs came in the first inning. Anna Frazier scored the first run on a wild pitch before an RBI groundout by Olivia Hyatt scored Ivy Ray. Later, Ella Ebert and Jordyn Tong each had an RBI single.

After a run in the second inning made it 5-0, Ferrum came back with two runs in the third, but the Pride got those runs back in the fourth when they scored two of their own after an Ebert two-RBI double.

The Panthers scored two more in the sixth but that would be it for them as Greensboro shut the door and claimed their ninth win of the season.
