Josh Wilson received a bye in round one and won his next two matches to advance to Saturday's NCAA DIII Men's Wrestling National Championship semifinals. Wilson is now a five time All-American with his two wins on Friday.
After his first round bye, Wilson took on Bradley Rosen of North Central and won by Decision 8-6. That win advanced Wilson to the quarterfinals against Luke Hoerle of Stevens. Wilson and Hoerle put on a show, as the match went into overtime. Wilson took the win in overtime by sudden victory, 8-5 to advance to the semifinals.
With the win, Wilson is now a five time All-American at Greensboro College. The semifinal round will feature Wilson taking on Mark Samuel of Roanoke College. The two last met in the NCAA Regional Tournament, where Wilson defeated Samuel by Decision 13-10. The two also met at last year's National Championships in the semifinals.
The final four wrestlers in the 141lb weight class features Wilson, Samuel, Pierre Baldwin of Central, and Sean Conway of UChicago, who defeated Jacob Reed of Ohio Northern earlier in the tournament. Wilson defeated Reed at last year's National Championships and the 2025 NCAA Regionals.
